Safety Policies and Procedures for Chinatown Peace Church During COVID (Indoor Worship)
Before entry for service:
Everyone must register online or by telephone to inform Chinatown Peace Church of your attendance. No more than 40 people are permitted to attend the service in the sanctuary. Contact information of all attendees will be collected for contact tracing purposes. Contact information will be destroyed after thirty days.
All attendees must carry out a health check before attending a worship service. Do not attend worship if you:
Have travelled outside of Canada within the last 14 days
Have been identified by Public Health as a close contact of someone with COVID-19
Have been told to isolate by Public Health
Are displaying any of the following new or worsening symptoms:
Fever or chills
Cough
Loss of sense of smell or taste
Difficulty breathing
Sore throat
Loss of appetite
Extreme fatigue or tiredness
Headache
Body Aches
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea
Attendees must not gather or socially engage with other attendees before a worship service
All must stand socially distant (more than 2 meters apart) from each other while waiting to enter the building, unless they live in the same private residence.
Upon entry, everyone must sanitize their hands and wear their masks. This will be provided and enforced by the usher.
Attendees will follow the arrows on the floor and sit in the designated areas marked on the floor with others who live in the same private residence. Designated areas are measured to be more than 2 meters apart from each other.
During the service:
Two (2) meters separation must be kept between household bubbles. Three (3) meters separation must be kept between the designated speaker, reader, or soloist and the rest of the congregation
Attendees must not gather or socially engage with other attendees during a worship service
Masks must not be removed throughout the duration of the service, unless they are the designated speaker, reader, or soloist.
Only the designated speaker, reader, or soloist may speak, sing, or chant. The congregation may follow along silently.
Please bring your own water as the kitchen and water coolers will be closed. Please do not share. The kitchen will not be accessible.
For communion, individually wrapped crackers will be provided.
Washroom capacity will be reduced to two people. Doors will be propped open to minimize physical contact.
The passing of the peace must be done silently with the congregation staying in place.
The offering bag will not be passed around. Donations will be encouraged through e-Transfer or PayPal online.
Sanitizer will be available at any time throughout the service.
After service:
Attendees must not gather or socially engage with other attendees after a worship service and must disperse immediately. Members joining via Zoom from home may continue to converse.
Cleaning will be exercised after service on high contact surfaces such as light switches, doorknobs, seats…etc.
